At West Valley Hearing Center, you’ll get one of the most comprehensive evaluations you will ever have. Jane does this to ensure an accurate diagnostic assessment.

After completing an extensive history of your hearing problems, Jane completes
the following:

• Audiometric Test of frequency-specific sensitivity;
• Speech Reception Test to pinpoint the lowest volume at which you can identify words;
• Word Recognition Test to evaluate your hearing clarity for speech;
• Impedance Test to detect middle-ear or eardrum problems;
• Loudness Tests to determine the range of sounds most comfortable to you.

All of this testing determines your “Hearing Profile.”

Your Hearing Profile = Your Special Needs.

Your "Hearing Profile" tells Jane the exact nature of your hearing loss and allows her to determine if hearing instruments are appropriate for you. After she determines whether you'll benefit from amplification, she will recommend hearing devices that fit your budget and lifestyle.

If the examination of your ears or the hearing test results indicate that your hearing loss is due to a medical problem, Jane will contact your physician and provide the test results.
